Conceptual artist Daniel Buren now takes to the garden pergola at The Bristol, Paris–one of the city’s landmark hotels with Pause Colorée (Colorful Pause), his latest in situ work. ‘une pause colorée’, is on view at the historic site until october 6, it wraps two intimate dining areas in colorful translucent walls and connects them with a prismatic pergola. Tinted glass in blue, yellow, orange, red and purple create a prism overhead, subtly shifting in hue depending on the quality and position of sunlight filtering through. The tones are arranged in alphabetical order and respond to changes in weather and lighting. Once the installation comes down after summer, it will be sold at galerie kamel mennour‘s new space.
